Expert Mathematics SEN tutor Naz offers tailored Maths tuition and mentoring, helping students build confidence, resilience and independence while overcoming academic and learning challenges.
Naz is an accomplished mathematics tutor and student mentor with an exceptional academic background and a warm, empathetic approach to supporting young people. At the age of 16, she moved to the UK independently to begin sixth form, adapting to a completely unfamiliar educational and cultural environment.
Despite these challenges, Naz achieved four A*s at A-Level and qualified for the British Mathematical Olympiad. She subsequently earned a First-Class degree in Mathematics from Imperial College London before completing her Master’s degree at the University of Cambridge, graduating with Distinction.
Naz’s personal journey has given her a genuine understanding of the resilience, adaptability and self-belief that students often need to overcome academic and personal barriers. She believes that a young person’s potential is not always immediately visible and may need to be carefully uncovered through patience, encouragement and the right individual support.
Naz gained extensive experience as a private tutor over the years . She has supported students across a wide range of ages, academic levels and learning profiles, including children and young people with special educational needs. Her work combines academic tuition with mentoring, helping students develop confidence, resilience, independence and a more positive approach to learning.
As a mentor, Naz takes time to understand each student as an individual. She supports learners with motivation, goal-setting, organisation, managing academic pressure and overcoming setbacks. Her aim is to help students recognise their strengths, build self-belief and become more confident in taking responsibility for their learning.
With a strong technical grounding in mathematics, statistics and advanced problem-solving, Naz is particularly skilled at breaking complex ideas into clear, manageable steps. She adapts her explanations and teaching methods to suit each learner, creating a supportive environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through challenges at their own pace whilst motivating and building confidence.
Naz’s teaching and mentoring philosophy is simple: every student should feel understood, capable and properly supported. Her goal is to help young people recognise and fulfil their potential—both academically and personally.
