Hi, I’m Harry. I’m a Physics student at Imperial College London, with a particular interest in theoretical and mathematical physics. I achieved A*A*A*A* at A-Level and seven Grade 9s at GCSE, and I have over three years of tutoring experience.
I’m also dyslexic, which has influenced the way I learn and the way I teach. I understand that being capable academically does not necessarily mean that traditional teaching methods will always work for you. Sometimes you need information explained differently, broken into clearer steps, or approached from another direction before everything clicks.
This is one of the reasons I enjoy working with students through SEN Specialists. I want students to understand why something works rather than simply memorising a method. I build concepts from the ground up, identify gaps in understanding and then gradually introduce more challenging problems as confidence develops.
As someone with dyslexia who has progressed to studying Physics at Imperial, I particularly enjoy showing students that a learning difference does not place a ceiling on academic ambition. For students who are dyslexic, neurodivergent, gifted or twice-exceptional (2e), I can also share strategies that have helped me manage demanding mathematical and scientific work.
For high-achieving students, I believe learning should extend beyond simply completing the syllabus. I enjoy introducing unfamiliar problems that require students to think, experiment and apply their knowledge in new ways. My aim is not only to help students achieve excellent examination results, but to develop the independent thinking, problem-solving skills and confidence needed for A-Level, university and beyond.
Outside academics, I have been a competitive swimmer for nine years and enjoy exploring the outdoors.
